Meals on Wheels drivers deliver nutritionally balanced meals to home bound elders and adults with disabilities throughout the Merrimack Valley.

Fundraising volunteers identify grant funding sources and write applications, support the Hellcat Trail Boardwalk Plank Fundraiser team by assisting with photographing planks and transporting them to/from the engraver, and create additional fundraising opportunities.

Outreach volunteers help by writing articles for local news media and our Facebook page, participating in community events, coordinating outreach events, helping build partnerships with local groups and organizations, generating interest in refuge volunteer tasks, and assist with the recruitment of new members.

Companion Volunteers are needed to provide socialization and companionship to persons with memory loss, providing much needed time off for the caregiver. Companions undergo screening, CORI checks, receive REST training and ongoing supervision.

The Ombudsman is a resident advocate, helping to ensure the quality of care, life and environment for people who live in nursing homes. Volunteers make weekly visits to the nursing home to listen to and assist in resolving any resident concerns. Volunteers receive training and ongoing support and supervision.

Accompany elders to medical appointments and act as their advocate by coaching, supporting, and empowering them to take charge of their health care.

If you prefer to help out indoors, we can use your time and skills around the office. Office support volunteers often stuff envelopes for membership mailings, staff our front reception desk, prepare event supplies, or provide other office tasks.

Volunteer as a reserve steward and help monitor our reserves in Acushnet, Fairhaven, Mattapoisett, and Wareham. Walk the grounds and trail networks weekly or monthly and notify us of any maintenance needs or vandalism. Training provided.
