To help control overpopulation by humanely trapping stray or feral cats on scheduled days and then transporting them to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton to be spayed or neutered.

Clean cat cages and dog kennels on an on-going or on-call basis. Provide fresh bedding, toys, water and food to the animals. Observe behavior and health and alerts the staff to any issues which may affect the animal’s adoptability.

Job Description/Purpose: To provide temporary animal companionship for residents of assisted living and senior centers, allowing the animals to socialize outside of the facility.

To exercise and socialize dogs, in the shelter, by taking them individually outside for walks and playtime on the Humane Society of Greater Dayton property. This alleviates stress and gives the dogs much needed exercise thus increasing their chances of being adopted. It is also a great opportunity for teaching the dogs basic socialization skills.

Conduct education programs regarding responsible pet ownership, bite prevention, animal cruelty, and pet overpopulation at schools and various locations throughout the community.
