This experience uses the same JA programs as the traditional method, but it’s condensed into a single day for a high-impact experience! Perfect for the volunteer who can take just a day away from work.
As a JA Traditional Volunteer, you’ll be paired with a teacher in a classroom. This delivery method is an effective and popular way to show students a connection between the skills they are learning in the classroom and how they can get a more fulfilling career and life.

This program is a partnership with the Boston Public Schools (BPS) and enables adults to get a high school diploma rather than an equivalency. Classes in English, math, social studies, science, college and career readiness, and financial literacy follow a curriculum provided by BPS.
We are seeking volunteer assistants to provide direct outreach to immigrant communities throughout the Boston area for the English for Advancement program. In addition to learning more English, students will work with their career coach to develop resumes and cover letters, search for jobs, prepare for job interviews, and receive post-placement follow up.
Assist participants with finding gainful employment, work closely with Career Coach and instructors to support job preparation and administrative tasks toward this goal.
