Enjoy interacting with others? Join our team as a Docent! Guest Relations Docents work at the Lakeshore Museum Center and Muskegon Heritage Museum greeting visitors at special events and programs, offering directions through the Museum, and provide a positive experience to guests at the Museum.
Volunteer for school tours, play and learn programs, and special programs that center on teaching kids and families about science and history in Muskegon County. Education docents provide supplemental knowledge to exhibits and may be trained on special demonstrations including STEM programs and activities.
Additional opportunities to volunteer at the Yankee Air Museum include: interviewers for oral history, museum special events support, administrative volunteers, air show volunteers, security, museum ambassadors, restoration projects, and building maintenance.
Docents and Tour Guides are Volunteers trained to give guided tours throughout the Museum to visiting school groups and daily public tours. A total of 12-15 hours of training will be provided over several days, plus required continuing education sessions.

Greet and assist members at the front desk.
Assist Y staff who lead our youth in sports teams and who teach classes.
Motivate and support youth in building the character strengths, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health, smart life choices, and the pursuit of higher education and goals.
Help ensure that Y wellness areas are welcoming and inviting. You’ll assist members with questions, maintain an organized and clean center, and create a friendly and engaging space for all.
