Walking Dogs at the Athens Co. Dog Shelter: walkers provide exercise and enrichment for dogs currently being housed att the shelter. Walkers MUST attend a new volunteer training session prior to walking dogs.
9:00 am – 2:00 pm
This can include visiting, reading, taking walks, writing letters, bringing in music, providing transportation when appropriate, preparing a small meal or holding a hand.
Providing family members rest by being scheduled to sit with their loved one so that a much needed break can be taken.
Depending on your availability and interests you can select from over 30 different areas of the hospital, such as: Transport of patients, Mail room, Information Desk, Gift Shop, Office & clerical, Patient liaison, Doula*, and Vendor sales
Volunteers can assist with shopping or allow family caregivers the opportunity to take care of necessary errands Family members also appreciate a visit from a compassionate friend who understands what they are going through.
Assist HCP in promoting awareness of HCP. Be on call to help us stuff envelopes, get out a mailing, assist with newsletter production, or even work with us on video editing/production projects for web and social media content. We have many needs in this area!
Volunteer parents (and grandparents) create, strengthen, and support the connections between and among students and adults in our community. Each classroom has a few representative volunteers who help the teachers coordinate classroom activities and foster a warm welcome to all family events as ambassadors of the School.
