Be the face that welcomes our clients into our community center! This position will be needed on days that employees will be out in the community. Answer phone calls, file paperwork, and help around the office with simple tasks (organizing, light cleaning, signing for packages, etc.).

No certification needed. Volunteer tasks include distribution of hotline cards and flyers to public places, (medical centers, doctor’s offices, schools, etc.). Volunteer time commitment is flexible. Documentation responsibilities include contact list/addresses of locations and drop offs. Volunteer supervision requirements are minimal.

SCIL provides opportunities for students from area colleges and universities to come and gain valuable experience at SCIL to complement their studies in human services, sociology, education, and other fields relevant to our mission.

Coming to the shelter is scary for an adult; just imagine what it is like for a kid! RAVE’s children’s program offers a weekly Kid’s Club where kids staying with us can get to know one another, learn some new things, and have a great time!

This volunteer would provide transportation to clients who may not have their own form of transportation or be able to afford public transportation. This individual would provide transportation for clients to appointments, housing/apartment tours, job interviews, court hearings, etc. within the Ionia and Montcalm counties. This commitment level could range from short to long term.

These volunteers provide transport for pets going to veterinary appointments or surgeries, grooming, or even taking them to their new adoptive homes. Animals are generally crated for transport.
