We all know how a good haircut makes us feel – beautiful, confident, and unstoppable! Stylists are needed to put their learned skills of hair cutting and styling to use at the Center for Women & Children. Must be a licensed cosmotologist.
On a daily basis, hundreds of men, women, and children seek meals, resources, and shelter at various Wheeler Mission locations. It is important that our facilities reflect an atmosphere of dignity, cleanliness, and that we are good stewards of what God has given us. From landscaping to carpentry to painting to maintenance.
Assist with the serving of breakfast and lunch for our clients in need. Monday’s from 9:00 am-12:00 pm and Thursday’s from 8:00-11:30
Join us in distributing food and basic hygiene items, assist with the intake process for WNS’s clients, assist with item selections, or help with the checkout process. Monday’s from 9:00 am-12:00 pm or Thursday’s from 8:30-11:30 am
Call a senior on a regular basis (daily, once or twice a week) to check in with them and have a brief conversation. Calls to seniors help fight social isolation.
Enjoy a fun weekend activity fellowshipping with men in long-term programs at our Men’s Residential Center through a family-friendly movie night. Men staying at this Center are in structured programming throughout the week and always look forward to unwinding on the weekends.
Women & Hi Tech requires volunteers to help with various organization, partner, or sponsored events throughout the year. The events could occur during the weekday or on a weekend. Volunteer needs will vary based on the type of event being held, and details will be confirmed prior to the event for those interested to volunteer.
Help to stock our shelves with food, toiletries, and clothing from food banks, businesses, organizations, and individuals.
