Fundraising Committee volunteers are a social group who engage people in the community in our work. Committee members plan our museum tours that showcase our work, and plan and host our annual fundraising breakfast or lunch in November.
There are much to keep clean at the center.
The Economic Development Committee’s role is to strengthen the community’s existing economic assets while expanding and diversifying it’s economic base through business retention, expansion and recruitment. Programs include: Business Retention Program, Future Development, Paid Parking, Sidewalk Improvements, and Loan Programs.
The Marketing and Promotions Committee’s role is to develop the social assets of the commercial district by selling a positive image of the district and encouraging consumers to work, shop, play and invest in the district. Some examples of events include: Cocktail Bingo, Downtown Crawls, Halloween Trick or Treat, and Holiday Lighting Ceremony.
The Beautification Committee’s role is to develop the physical and visual assets of the commercial district where it seeks to capitalize on it’s best assets. It works to develop better downtown lighting, cleaning and maintenance, landscaping and flower planting, way-finding signage, and display kiosks.
Volunteers of all ages and skill levels are invited to these fun, hands-on restoration days. By pitching in, you are improving the watershed habitats that surround Lake Tahoe. Healthy forests act as natural pollution filters to Keep Tahoe Blue.
Tahoe’s beaches are an amazing treasure, but they often suffer from overuse, especially during the summer. That’s why one of the League’s strongest volunteer programs is conducting beach cleanups throughout the summer and fall.
We need a person who will hunt for travel deals, learn the best way to leverage points and help us reduce costs of our vacations while providing a top notch experience for our recipients.
We ask different groups of volunteers to come with food for the shelter as well as arts and crafts or activities for the children on Thursday nights. It is family friendly, kids of all ages are welcome to attend with their parents.
We also need volunteers to pick up furniture and other heavy items from donors. If you have a pick-up truck and some strong friends Thomas House could really use your support.
