Volunteer as a Personal Statement Coach at one of our college workshops. Be a panel speaker at an upcoming career fair. Be a judge at our Word Wizard spelling bee competition. Attend one of our LACER sports tournaments.
Childcare volunteers supervise children during facility programs when mothers are working on case management needs, health and medical appointments and additional times as needed. They also make arts and crafts, read stories, play games, watch educational videos, go on field trips, and tutor.
Help out by transporting residents to appointments. This could include employment, housing, medical and mental health appointments and emergency transportation.
We have an ongoing need of fosters in Los Angeles County who are excited about the chance to make a difference for vulnerable feline populations, including: bottle-fed kittens, kittens learning to eat on their own, sick kittens, shy or scared kittens, moms with young kittens, or healthy and friendly kittens already eating on their own.…
Assist with helping residents build skills necessary for independent living (Budget Planning, Housing Search, Creating a Resume, Organization, etc) and lead instructional programs (cooking, housekeeping tips, parenting guides, creative arts, etc).
Assist with planning and management of fundraising events, assist with event set-up or clean-up, help develop and coordinate distribution of fundraising materials, and help secure in-kind donations for raffles or auctions.
Library attendants organize and dust library books; check out books to residents and shelve returned books; and assist with storytime with kids.
Organize and sanitize items in toy room; dust and organize books in library; wash windows, walls, doors, and doorknobs; and remove trash.
Help out with essential aspects of shelter maintenance such as painting, minor repairs, cleaning, organization, yard work/gardening, and more.
