Volunteers help their local chapter host events for the community, take an active role in creating safer space in their local community, make positive change, and connect local geek activists to local and national causes.

Providing child care during the Foster Care Program’s Support Group. Volunteers will be accompanied by DCCH personnel. This takes place once a month on the 2nd Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

No action sports experience required. Our STOKED to Serve mentors work throughout the year with students on community impact projects to improve and beautify our neighborhoods. Service projects in the past have included mural painting, skate ramp building, community garden planting, park clean-ups, and homeless shelter service.

Tutoring individuals; reading with students; assisting at the library; assisting with technology, offering music or art lessons; and/or documenting monthly records. Times are between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm.

Assisting the residential staff during regularly scheduled activities, including tutoring, arts and crafts, teaching daily living skills, and leading indoor/outdoor recreational activities. Interested volunteers should feel comfortable with initiating, suggesting, and leading activities for their assigned youth.
