Greet new visitors and answer basic questions. Answer the telephone and provide general assistance to the Nature Center Manager and staff.
Assist in the daily cleaning of exhibits, preparing diets, feeding animals, observing animals, record keeping, providing enrichment and are responsible for keeping all animal areas clean and disinfected. Occasionally public speaking and animal handling is required. (Must be comfortable around turtles, tortoise, snakes and amphibians)
Help to pack boxed lunches for kids in our kitchen. These meals are served to thousands of kids each day during their after school program.

We rely on volunteers for many things, including but not limited to helping with special events, distributing posters/flyers, assisting in the office, acting as exhibit tour guides, and putting together exhibits.
Healthy LifeStars has partnered with the Salvation Army to incoporate teaching youth and their families how to set goals, be more active and establish better eating habits.
