Book preparation events are held regularly each week. Preparing 52,000 books per month is a task that can only be accomplished with the help of dedicated volunteers. Volunteers are also needed to help scan books.
Donations to SJRC are picked up each Tuesday, and we are in need of someone to assist the driver.
With 40 acres, 20 buildings and only two maintenance workers, we need help with the simple stuff like changing air filters, repairing sprinklers and other similar ‘to-do’ items you would normally do on the weekend in your own home.
There are many corporate and community outreach volunteer opportunities available or you may have some ideas of your own! Many groups choose to sponsor an event for our children or to provide volunteers for a service project.
The “Everything” Project is suitable for groups of 12-15 volunteers. In this project, we will combine elements of Feel Good Friday, Sacked Lunch Super Heroes, and Cookin’ for a Cause to create the ultimate NPHY volunteer experience. From assisting with mailings, pledge drive phone operation, and community outreach events, the volunteer opportunities to support Nevada Public Radio are on-going, and we would love for you to join us!
Volunteers are needed for data entry, stuffing envelopes for mailings, and general office assistance. This is on an as-needed basis; times and days can vary. Volunteers interested in participating as an office assistant will be notified via email of upcoming opportunities as they arise.
Please help us provide clothing, food and other supplies for students: Join us for one hour, two hours or more to pack school orders and sort and fold clothing for Betty’s clothing showroom. Anytime between 9 am – 5 pm Monday through Friday.
