We welcome corporate and other groups seeking service opportunities. In one afternoon, a motivated group can transform a program space or engage a group of youth in a special activity.

Youth volunteers can assist as gym assistants, games room helpers, homework assistants, Friday Night Events, and community service projects.

We are looking for volunteers who can assist with the daily activities in all of our program areas: Aquatics, Athletics, Arts, Education, Technology, Music, Teen and Social Recreation. There are also opportunities for junior volunteers between the ages of 14-18. These special volunteers assist in Webster at Rye’s intergenerational programs. They may help residents hand out treats to children at Halloween, assist in a weekly bowling game or teach someone how to use the computer.

Some volunteers might choose to share their hobbies, talents and special interests, while others provide important emotional support to an individual by simply holding a hand or lending an ear. Volunteers can have regularly scheduled assignments or can come in to help with a specific event, such as a holiday party or a shopping trip…

Urban Edge residents are proud of their homes, and work to clean up and spruce up common areas. We welcome anyone who cares to join us in this positive effort. Volunteers assist with raking, painting, general cleanup, securing donations.

Every year, Urban Edge distributes over 750 toys to children in UE housing. Most of those toys are donated by those who attend our annual toy drive. Volunteers help by taking donations (toys), writing and attaching toy tags, signing in recipients, assisting in distribution, set up and clean up.

We offer a range of volunteer opportunities such as: working directly at one of our housing/residential programs, gardening and helping out at ReVision Urban Farm, serving meals or teaching classes at the Boston Living Center, participating in one of our fundraising and special events, helping with administrative tasks, and assisting with graphic design needs.

TV pledge volunteers answer phones and record pledges of support from donors as part of WGBH’s fundraising drives. Volunteering during our live fundraising drives is a great way to meet new people, experience the thrill of being on a live TV set, and support local public media.
