Our Back to School Program is an annual late summer event where parents can sign their school children up for a backpack with grade appropriate supplies and pick it up before the first day of school. COA works with the school office to pay for school fees, if needed.
For families with children, we provide a special gift for each child, aged infant to 18, and schedule shopping days at the Troy Kohl’s so parents can shop for clothing for their children. COA volunteers are at the store to assist with purchases. Shopping hours are planned for the first week or so in December.
Are you a history buff? Join the fun and volunteer at our annual Fair at New Boston. Not only will you have the opportunity to learn more about our local history, but share it with others as well!
Whether you participate with the First Mad River Light Artillery with cannon demonstrations, or enjoy battlefield re-enactments, our group of volunteers are always at the ready!
Do you have a special gift of woodworking, restoring historical properties, or general interest in working with others on rewarding projects? We have a great group that appreciates an extra set of hands.
USS has a wide variety of challenging volunteer opportunities for all ages. Some volunteers assist in administrative duties, while others provide hands-on services. Opportunities are matched to a volunteer’s skills and interests.
In addition, USS offers opportunities for service and enrichment through the RSVP – Retired and Senior Volunteer Program – for seniors aged 55 and better. RSVP is a part of AmeriCorp Seniors. RSVP helps seniors find volunteer opportunities with non-profits and government agencies in Clark County.
