Other volunteering opportunities are developed on a case by case basis, depending upon need and availability. Examples are sorting and preparing supplies for Veterans, coaching and teaching at the Veterans Training School, and participating in special work details, projects and corporate work outings. The Employment Support Program includes weekly Workforce Orientation Workshop and quarterly Mock Interview Day events, and Mock Interview Prep sessions for one-to-one coaching prior to Mock Interview Day events.
We are also always looking for support in the following areas: administrative (database, mailings, organization), communications, graphic design of marketing materials, social media, and website.
Volunteers who possess skills or professional/technical experience that may benefit Strongwater, such as photography, marketing, graphic design, computer knowledge, etc., are encouraged to contact us.
Volunteers help with general maintenance, repairs and improvements of the facility, including fencing.
Volunteers with expertise in marketing, communications, special events or fundraising are invited to volunteer with our Development team. The time commitment varies based on the project, but in general longer-term volunteers are preferred (at least three months). We are in particular need of volunteers who are bilingual in English and Spanish.
