Detroit Audubon’s seasonal magazine, the Flyway, includes articles and photographs describing our many programs, events and research projects throughout the year. Getting a volunteer photographer to attend some of our events would be a big help! If you are interested in science writing or natural resources and bird conservation writing, we would love to hear…

Detroit Audubon is seeking experienced birders to lead some of our field trips for 2023. We will offer personal training and work closely with our new field trip leaders until they are comfortable leading on their own or with a co-lead.

Maintenance assistance such as mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, fencing, and farm equipment skills are always needed.

We also have a role for volunteers behind the scenes. With tens of thousands of artifacts in our collection, the Museum is constantly inventorying and cataloging these historical treasures. We are also always looking for those who like to write, or are handy with a hammer.

Assist by organizing events, soliciting donations, grant writing, grant management, identification of grant opportunities, and more.
