Our bill-paying volunteers are people who enjoy helping others and are comfortable with paperwork. We have a team of over 15 individuals who assist clients in their homes. Do you have an area of expertise that you would like to contribute to ACCESS’ community? Ideas for events or skills to teach? In the past, we’ve had volunteer ESOL teachers, computer basics teachers, and partnerships with social service agencies.
Learn about the history of Dayton and the people who have shaped the city. Share with visitors about the unique events that have taken place since Dayton’s founding and what an exciting place it has always been to live!
Build and operate scale trains at Carillon Historical Park in collaboration with one of Dayton History’s affiliate organizations.
Lend a hand to prepare and serve an authentic 1830s meal at Tavern Dinners in the Spring and Fall. Greet and direct visitors at the annual Dayton Concours d’Elegance and other special events, concerts, and festivals.
Demonstrate how to operate printing machinery and create publications in our 1930s print shop.
These services help to supplement our operations and are required for continued funding. Assistance is needed in classrooms, teaching children in the home, equipment donations, supplies, space, and advisory committees/councils. Time donated by professionals for the training of staff or parents also qualifies.
