Many hands make light work. Our development director is always seeking volunteers to assist with carrying out the details of planning and implementing our events. This opportunity perfect for creative individuals and/or those for whom its fun to generate excitement and enthusiasm in others.
House and Yard Upkeep: Repairs, painting, window washing, etc.
Support Fundraisers and Special Events: duties will vary.
House Operations: Run errands and grocery shop. Meals: Cook a meal or provide snacks for guests. Stock Pantry: Purchase, or organize a household drive to collect, wish list items such as coffee, laundry detergent, trash bags, paper products, etc.
Share expertise in gardening, animal care, arts and crafts, and recreational activities by working with individuals in our skill-building program.
Work in various areas on the farm such as gardening, building improvements, fence mending, animal care (not specifically with the participants).
Help with a designated event, like our annual Gala fundraiser.
Mentor an individual with autism to expand his or her social skills and network of friends.
Volunteer opportunities include: Administrative/Data Entry, Baking Cookies for Events, Assisting at Events, Field Work (pruning, sweeping, mowing, trash pick up), Conducting Trail User Surveys, Making Deliveries (Posters, brochures, newsletters), Preparing Mailings, Gardening/Invasive Species Removal, Fundraising and Grant Writing, Volunteering for State and Bijou Theatre Shifts, Serving on the Board of Directors, Marketing, and Other opportunities.
