The mentor program is part of the core program model at Year Up Greater Boston. Our mentors provide professional advice, career and educational planning support, and networking opportunities. Mentoring is an especially personal and rewarding way to impact a young adult’s life.

Interested in helping out with events, guest teaching, or other projects? Have a project to propose? We’d love to know!

Become a guest speaker, and share your story and insights with a group of young adults preparing to launch their careers.

Work on the major fundraising events helping with in-office administrative tasks and general fundraising. Day of event tasks include greeting and registering guests, selling raffle tickets, helping with event set up and break down.

Male mentors are needed for the boys in our YWCA Fina House OASIS program. Training and background checks are required.

Help out by babysitting while mothers participate in group activities at YWCA Fina House transitional housing programs. This position requires training and a background check.

Tutors or computer coaches for our After School Program to work individually with school-age children. This is a good opportunity for high school students. We also need adult tutors to work with one of our YWCA Fina House housing residents to help them earn their GED.

Be there to provide students academic guidance and help them hone their technical skills.

Support a high school student in a specific subject area while forming a relationship and providing general academic guidance.

Assist in the running of a number of different visual arts offerings, including ceramics, painting, art & science, and printmaking.
