Cooking volunteers help the JF&CS CHAI Supported Housing program by planning out simple, tasty, and healthy meals to cook and share with 7 to 14 residents and staff at one of the JF&CS supported residences in Greater Boston and the surrounding towns.

We are looking for a responsible, dedicated volunteer to facilitate a Friday night Shabbat candle lighting ceremony (candle lighting, Kiddush, and Motzi) from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. in a JF&CS CHAI residence. The ideal candidate will have an interest in helping people with disabilities celebrate their Jewish faith.
Housing Families hosts and participates in many fundraising and outreach events in the community every year. Volunteers are a big part of the success of these events. This is a great opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic but can’t make a long term commitment.
Volunteers, particularly with a background in Latino/a theatre, are invited to facilitate specialized theater workshops for high school youth. Program takes place weekday afternoons and evenings.
Volunteers are invited to teach specialized workshops in any genre of dance, with a preference for Afro-Latin dance, or workshops that may be helpful to rising dancers such as performing tips, musicality, body movement, or styling in Afro-Latin dance. Reception desk volunteers greet all who enter the building, ensure that sign-in procedures are followed, direct visitors to the appropriate locations, answer phone calls, and assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
Assist with various Hyde Square Task Force events throughout the year. Responsibilities may include distributing flyers in the neighborhood, set up, clean up, serving as a greeter, making phone calls, and more. Time commitment varies based on event schedule and season
