The Children’s Program is the most popular volunteer opportunity with our college-aged volunteers, who tutor, mentor, and supervise children ages 4-12.
We ask different groups of volunteers to come with food for the shelter as well as arts and crafts or activities for the children on Thursday nights. It is family friendly, kids of all ages are welcome to attend with their parents.
Is your company, church group, or scouting troupe looking for a service project? Thomas House can always use the support of volunteers who can complete minor building maintenance and repairs, painting, light carpentry, or other projects as needed.
We also need volunteers to pick up furniture and other heavy items from donors. If you have a pick-up truck and some strong friends Thomas House could really use your support. We often have to decline donations of excellent furniture that our graduate families really need because we do not have any means of transporting…
Love to throw parties? Give the Thomas House children a day to remember by throwing a Birthday Party (once a month, Saturdays), or Holiday Party (Thursday evenings). Some holidays we celebrate at Thomas House include: Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Graduation, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
We are currently looking for individuals to bake birthday cakes for our parents and children for their birthdays. Everyone deserves a cake on their birthday, and it is so much more special when it is home baked.
Thomas House hosts three special events every year, and planning occurs year-round. We need organized and flexible volunteers to help us plan and execute extraordinary fundraisers for homeless families with children.
The Raise Foundation is looking for professionals, retirees, stay-at-home parents, grandparents, and other caring adults of all ages to help us educate the community about the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
