Our Language Bank does cost money for our interpreters, but we need volunteers to interpret for those who cannot afford to pay.

Volunteer drivers are sometimes needed to take the international visitors around Reno and Tahoe for the day. The individuals will need to be picked up from their hotel and escorted around the town. We will need a copy of a valid driver’s license.

You may host one of our International Visitor Groups for dinner, host an Algerian Youth Leadership student for two weeks, or become a volunteer at one of our Fulbright events. The Executive Director has an occasional need for administrative help such as opening mail, filing, running mail to the post office, picking up donations, and answering telephones. We also have an occasional need for someone to fill in at the main house answering the telephone and accepting donations.

Some of our residents may need assistance with their education from time to time. We are looking for tutors for a variety of subjects who would be available on an on-call basis to help our residents strengthen their skills.

Our annual gala, Light Up A Life, offers many ways to share your interests and talents throughout the year, individually or as a group. Assist with event elements such as securing auction items or promoting the car raffle. Opportunities are flexible and can be tailored to your schedule.

Help youth practice their interviewing skills and build confidence in their job search. As an interviewer from a fictional company, you will get to know students one-on-one and see first-hand the incredible personal and professional growth they have achieved. All interviewing materials will be provided.

Share your knowledge and career insight with youth during their life skills sessions. The goal is for you to provide fun, informal and informative training on your topic of interest. Topics can range from workplace etiquette, proper attire, personal disclosure, etc.
