Foster youth who age out of the foster care system, have been through a lot and are in need of building healthy, lasting relationships with Stepping Forward LA co-mentors, like yourself. Co-mentors provide general support provided to former foster aging out of the system.
The young adults that we hire for our short-term paid internship have written an App – created by former foster – for foster youth. Within this App, we offer a variety of resources including workshops facilitated by our volunteers. They could teach budgeting, how to cook an omelet, creative outlets like writing and reading poetry…
Enjoy the hustle and bustle of loads of people? Assist us with Special Events by prepping behind the scenes, or be on the forefront greeting others, running a program, or other jobs that pop up at larger events and programs.
Additional opportunities to volunteer at the Yankee Air Museum include: interviewers for oral history, museum special events support, administrative volunteers, air show volunteers, security, museum ambassadors, restoration projects, and building maintenance.
