We would love to have your help out at the butterfly house. Opportunities also include raising plants as caterpillar food or pollinator plants, helping us maintain the butterfly house and gardens, or helping lead group events.

Hands On opportunities like tree plantings, cleans ups and building projects with other organizations. Arts events by Mercury and other organizations, such as concerts, award shows, theater plays, etc.

Annual Earth Day Festival – engages over 300 volunteers during the month of April – National and Local Service Month! Other Special Events by Mercury and other organization – one of the funnest ways to volunteer.

If you are interested in being a leadership volunteer – helping Mercury to plan events, develop programs and get more involved in the community on a regular basis, we welcome such collaboration and would love to meet with you.

Volunteers lend helping hands during special events. You can help with the planning, help us set up or take down, lead an activity, greet guest or more! Besides being great fun, these events are critical for the community contact and fundraising capabilities of Urban Roots.

A group whose goal is to comfort those experiencing loss by helping serve at memorial service receptions. Some set-up and decorate. Some bring or serve food. Others help with clean up. In a practical way, comfort and joy are given during a time of grief and loss.

Volunteers help parents and students engage in basic science exploration. During Family Science Nights, we offer 8 to 10 stations of simple science experiments testing different concepts and processes. Volunteers don’t need science knowledge to run the stations.

The Practical Needs Service Team exists to serve our church body by caring for others in tangible ways. This may include one-time project needs, moving assistance, or small household tasks.
