As we have many programs going on, we can always use a second set of hands.
Volunteers can also help by bringing an activity to the residents. By participating in fun experiences, the residents can make new friends, learn new skills, and thrive again as they work towards independence. The possibilities are endless – give us an idea and we’ll help you make it possible!
You can help by preparing a meal (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) off-site and serve to the residents. There are a variety of available dates throughout the year. You can serve a meal one time or regularly.
The residents of Tender Mercies are always in need of household items and supplies to make their home more welcoming and comfortable. Donating items on our Wish List is much appreciated by the residents as they regain stability and learn the skills needed to regain independence and self-sufficiency.
Area clean up, weed replacement and general yard maintenance.
MEAC has a variety of client programs and fundraising events throughout the year. Volunteers are needed for these annual events to make them a success.
Help with various Fund Raisers and/or be on committees (Fund Raising, Program, Marketing, Young Professionals Committee).
Class Instructor/Teacher: Lead a weekly class for the men staying at our homeless shelter, teaching life skills, bible studies, or creative expression classes.Classes can run for a period of time, such as 4 – 8 weeks, or can be on-going depending on the topic and instructor’s preference. Days and times are somewhat flexible.Current class topics…
Volunteer to help a youth – many at-risk – who needs a caring adult in his/her life to help guide them to success. Programs opportunities include:- Ballet instructor- Tutor- Mentor- Soccer coach- College guidance- Little Village play partner.
