Volunteers help build, repair, paint, and tear down sets. It is helpful for volunteers in this area to have some construction or painting background. Daytime and night hours are available.

We recieve food in bulk. Many items like produce, baking products, pasta and cereal need to be broken down into smaller, family-sized packages for our clients. Training provided.

We have developed great relationships with individuals and businesses in the community who provide excess product for our clients. Who do you know that might have a service or product that can be used at the BCAC? A few ideas: Food, clothing, shoes, personal product, etc.

Can you fix things? Do you like to clean? We always need individuals to keep our facility and vehicles clean and functioning. Areas of service: cleaning floors, trash, sanitizing, maintaining vehicles, facility repairs, etc.

May, June and July are known as “baby season” in our Wildlife Clinic – the time of year when orphaned and injured baby wildlife make up the majority of intakes. Foster volunteers with flexible schedules care for stabilized mammals at home and must attend two mandatory spring training sessions hosted by wildlife clinic staff. Some…

Truck and van drivers needed. Opportunities are available to pick up product at various community locations. Opportunities for standard license (in our “Mini” truck) or those with truck driver training (26′ box truck).

Do you enjoy working with people? Opportunities are available to interact with clients and other volunteers. Behind the scenes more your thing? We have plenty of service opportunities and introvert-friendly tasks.

Help support the rehabilitation of the thousands of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians that are treated here each year. Volunteers help feed the animals, clean their enclosures and assist with other wildlife support tasks as needed. (age: 18+; commitment: 4 hours/week)

In this summer program, students ages 13 to 17 help in the wildlife clinic by caring for baby ducklings and assisting the clinic staff with food preparation, light cleaning and special projects. (age: 13-17; commitment: 3-hour shift, one assigned day weekly, summer only) NOTE: This volunteer opportunity fills up fast so contact us early!

Help keep an exhibit perfect! Volunteers help clean and enhance a specific animal exhibit in HNC’s Wild Wonders Wildlife Park. Get to really know a specific bird, reptile or mammal. (age: 18+ or accompanied by an adult; commitment: flexible)
