PGT is our annual plein air painting festival held in Traverse City. We have many volunteer jobs, including event ambassadors, photography, artwork hanging, event help, and more!
Do you want to use your handyman skills? Paint galleries, un-crate artwork and assist with facilities.
We’re always looking for a few good hands to help around the office. Project by project, monthly or weekly. Duties might include mailings, data entry, phone answering, class sign-up, receptionist, proof-reading, or poster/flyer distribution.
Are you “hands-on”? Do you like to fix or maintain? Facility volunteers help with facility maintenance, do light carpentry, maintain grounds water plants, change lightbulbs. These volunteers like to “do.”
Do you love being a host or hostess? Help set-up, host, prepare food or greet at an upcoming Coffee @ Ten or Summer Lecture Series. Do you enjoy being a guide? Become a docent: learn about the current exhibits, give gallery tours and demonstrate hands-on projects for area schools and select adult groups.
Assist the shelter by helping plan or coordinate fundraising efforts. Or spread the word in the community by assisting with marketing.
Like working with people? Like to cook? Our events are volunteer-staffed, and we couldn’t host them without the help of many hands. Duties might include greeters, event set-up and clean-up, refreshments, photography, or committee involvement.
Want to learn more? Have an interest in art? Want to get your hands in the “art”? These volunteers may assist with adult or children’s classes, help out at Thoreson Farm, act as a docent for various exhibits, help out in the gallery, or serve on a committee.
Assist with our TNR program. TNR helps to prevent the death of feral-born kittens, addresses community complaints and concerns about cats, and helps temper the breeding cycle. Our TNR program has two elements: the actual TNR of community cats, as well as building shelters for the cats.
Fostering cats in your home. If you can provide a wonderful, temporary home for cats and kittens, FCS also uses foster homes for cats.
