Volunteers can assist the Administration department with filing, dissemination of materials and the planning of special events. The more help we receive, the more we can give back to the community.
We have a lot of materials that need cleaning, sorting, cutting. We have many participants in our program and need support in sorting the unfinished artwork into an organized system. Our instructors need support in workshops on occasion.
We are looking for individuals with computer skills who would be interested in supporting our admin. Tasks include: mailing list entry and updates, image sorting, photography, online sales support, and data entry. Some of these tasks can be done remotely and will greatly help our program.
Our Education and Engagement Program hosts groups of youth and adults to learn about our program and engage in an art making activity. Tasks involve welcoming, directing groups, and supporting our artists as they guide the art-making activity.
Community Ambassadors attend health fairs and local events to share information about Planned Parenthood’s range of services and locations and to help dispel myths about Planned Parenthood. If you are interested in this role, you must attend an orientation which are held 3-4 times throughout the year.
Components of our organization are continuing to grow. We often have need for people to help with phone banking, petition distribution, voter registration efforts or canvassing for advocacy issues. Good for: People passionate about the advocacy who want to see their work pay off immediately!
Health Center Hand Holders ensure our patients feel comfortable and supported before, during, and after surgical abortion procedures in clinic. We are looking for calming and peaceful presences to support our patients. Volunteers in this position serve for 12 months and must be available on Thursdays at our Baldwin Park .
Support a wide variety of museum teams. Work directly with our natural and cultural collections; organize artifacts, care for live animal ambassadors, prepare specimens, and so much more. Opportunities are dependent on project needs and availability.
Engage with visitors in the museum’s galleries. Share museum research and stories using our award-winning exhibits and touchable objects. Opportunities to join regular shifts are available most days of the week.
