If you’d rather work behind the scenes, you can help with educational programs, story telling/crafts, mailings, facility and/or yard maintenance, or other jobs that help us keep the Point Betsie Lighthouse a treasured destination for locals and visitors. Grounds volunteers may help set up for events, pull weeds, trim shrubs, or sweep sidewalks.
Group projects are what we do best! Let us know the size and interest of your group and we will pair you with a homeowner in need or a series of projects to complete
Volunteers who help fulfill necessary roles in the organization as volunteers. Phone intake, citation management, assessors, handy skills, development/ grant writers, communications, social media, photography, etc. They are invaluable to the organization.
Our field trip programs connect thousands of students each year to nature spaces within the highly urbanized Ballona Creek Watershed. Volunteer docents help make that happen! Docents receive training in local ecology and interpretation techniques and then work collaboratively to lead students in grades 3-8 on tours throughout the school year.
