To help prepare local high school students to become future leaders and responsible and caring citizens, Neighborhood House offers high school students in the greater Rochester community an opportunity to get involved in serving their community as a member of the youth committee.

Volunteers support client and fundraising events in many capacities. These events are normally held during the weekends but we do have weekday and weeknight opportunities. The majority of these events support group volunteers.

Volunteer ESL and Citizenship teachers needed! No certifications necessary! Classes are Sunday to Monday in Worcester & Milford. We’re currently looking for one or two volunteers to teach a basic English class in the afternoon in Worcester at 10 Hammond St.

Work with individuals with developmental disabilities OR assist with painting and gardening.

READ Ottawa has nine volunteer Board Members that steer the organization to ensure optimal operations and quality programming. All Board Members are required to serve on at least one of our committees, participate in tutoring or tutor training sessions, participate in community events, make contributions, and attend monthly board meetings in the evening.

READ Ottawa is always seeking members from the community to join our three committees. Committees tend to meet bi-monthly for up to two hours in the evening or on an as needed basis. All committee members are expected to attend every committee meeting. Our committees are: Outreach & Marketing Fundraising & Events Program & Operations

Help an adult learn to read and speak English and use a computer. Catholic Charities El Centro del Cardenal located in Jamaica Plain seeks volunteer computer lab assistants, teaching assistants, and tutors for its daytime adult English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program.

Pick up food, with staff at the Worcester County Food Bank or assist in our pantries with organizing food and working with clients.
