Sponsors are recovering addicts with a significant amount of clean time who have successfully worked the 12 steps of AA or NA. These volunteers commit to walking with a Safe Harbor resident through her own recovery journey, helping her work the steps.

Do you have a special talent or interest in an area such as music, finance, fitness/nutrition, gardening, car maintenance, cooking, or any other teachable skill? Chances are, there is a resident of Safe Harbor interested in learning your craft. They just need a teacher!

If your small group, church, or school is interested in doing a service project at Safe Harbor, we’d be blessed to have you!

Our staff members work diligently each day in their own professional niche’s, supporting the residents and strengthening the sustainability of Safe Harbor.

Safe Harbor is a home as well as a business. We have several computers and printers, and we need occasional IT support from individuals who know more about computers than we do (hint: it’s not much)!

For a variety of reasons, some of our residents have not been able to finish their formal education. They may need your help reaching a specific goal, like getting their GED, or more general help with completing Safe Harbor or recovery homework.

Every day we have 15 women all going different directions, needing rides to recovery meetings, dental appointments, volunteer commitments, trauma counseling, the grocery store, work. This vital volunteer opportunity is an excellent way to connect with and invest in the women of Safe Harbor, not to mention immensely bless our staff.

If you are trained in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or other contracting skills, we’d love to have your help when maintenance issues arise.

Once a week for about an hour, mentors listen, love on, and encourage a Safe Harbor resident. You just need to be a mature believer in Christ who shares God’s heart for the women of Safe Harbor.

There are occasionally opportunities to intern at Safe Harbor if you are a college or graduate student.
