AARDA relies on its grassroots fundraisers to help support and continue our mission. Fundraisers can join or host a walk, add a fundraising aspect to any event, get their coworkers involved with workplace giving, or even host a fundraiser through Facebook.
No matter your skills or areas of interest, we have an opportunity for you. Many of our volunteer positions require no previous experience – just the desire to learn through on–the-job training. Opportunities include acting, sound, props, set design, costumes, hair, choreography, house manager, usher, greeter, box office, and more.

General and deep cleaning is always needed. Sweeping, scrubbing and mopping floors, scrubbing walls, cleaning tables, chairs and windows. Cleaning soiled cat traps, litter boxes, kennels and dishes. Vacuuming and steam cleaning carpets. These are just a few of the daily cleaning duties we are looking for help with.
Help the veterinarian and veterinary technician during our wellness hours. Prepare vaccines, fill out paperwork, weigh patients, assist Veterinarian with procedures. Help hold animals for exams and vaccinations. Get heartworm and flea prevention ready to be sent home with the patient. Opportunities exist at all levels. Actors, Set Construction/Painting, Lighting/Sound, Props, Costumes, Stagehands, Ushers, Front of House and more.
Veterinary Technician and surgical monitoring experience. Be able to follow direction, prepare animals for surgery, monitor patients while in recovery. Must have experience with anesthesia.
Perform physical exams and spay/neuter surgeries on dogs and cats. Patients can be as young as 8 weeks/2 pounds and may be in heat. Prep work is done by veterinary assistants. Veterinary license in the State of Michigan, ability to handle spay/neuter complications, extensive surgery experience.
