We host service opportunities at the church multiple times throughout the year. We serve at the local resource center in downtown truckee; we walk the streets of Reno handing out care packages to those experiencing homelessness; and we participate in much more! North Lake Tahoe is seeking ambassadors to help expand education on destination stewardship and community safety. Local business organizations and Placer County officials have launched an Ambassador Program to assist with trash clean-up, distribution of personal protection equipment (PPE) and peer-to-peer communication in an effort to establish long-term solutions among North Lake Tahoe communities.

Volunteers from beginners to Master Gardeners, from ages 10-100 with smiling faces are encouraged to come work with us for an hour or a day. Tasks range from harvesting vegetables for donations, pruning flowers, planting seeds, transplanting seedlings and site maintenance to helping to organize our fundraising events.

To work with community members experiencing crisis, our volunteers must complete Crisis Intervention Training (CIT). We offer a 69-hour training in the spring and fall to provide community members with tools needed to help those experiencing domestic/intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and child abuse.

Join us as a trusted volunteer in one of our four program areas: Hunger Relief, Crisis Intervention & Prevention, Family Support & Community Engagement, and Mediation & Legal Assistance.

Your group will learn new skills, meet new people, and give back to your community. We have projects for volunteers of all ages, skills, strengths, and capabilities! No previous experience required! Be prepared to play in the dirt, do some minor lifting, and have an exciting group bonding experience.

The Trail Center also seeks volunteers to share their unique pioneer or mountain man skill. Just a few examples include: Operating a spinning wheel, performing traditional music in the pioneer camp, or cooking fresh biscuits over a campfire.
