Whether reading to children, stocking shelves at a food pantry or delivering meals to home-bound seniors, there are many volunteer opportunities available in central Ohio every day. We’re excited to announce that we’ve launched Volunteer United, a new way of connecting you to those local opportunities in our community.
ICPJ volunteers support a range of program and office activities, from bookkeeping to marketing and everything in between.
Work with a partner to meet with wish kids and their families to help determine their wishes, and then work with our staff to make those wishes a reality. Wish-granting volunteers must be 21 years of age, attend a wish-granting training and be able to commit to at least one year of volunteering.
Help facilitate wish experiences for non-English-speaking families. Translators attend wish visits and phone calls, but they are not directly involved in planning wishes. They may also assist with the translation of documents and other materials as needed.
Plan, organize and implement successful fundraising events by working on committees, helping on event day and/or participating in the event. Our special events volunteers help us by staffing our registration tables, handing out T-shirts, cheering on participants or welcoming attendees. Opportunities may also include speaking engagements, check pickups, representing Make-A-Wish Michigan at various activities hosted…
Open to wish alumni and their families, represent Make-A-Wish at a number of external outreach and fundraising events to share your wish experience. If you are interested in becoming an ambassador, contact Kierstynn Rozema.
Whether preparing care packages, teaching a workshop, helping around the office or unveiling beautiful linens for our fundraisers. Volunteers provide the extra pair of hands, the warm smiles or caring attitude that makes Joyful Treats!
This is a great opportunity for individuals (or families), groups, or organizations. Visit a JARC home once a month on a Sunday afternoon (or four times a year) to play games or bake cookies; or plan activities four times a year (e.g. spring cleanup, BBQ, fall cleanup, or an arts and crafts activity).
Help keep our homes looking beautiful in the spring and fall by weeding front and backyards, planting/pruning glowers and shrubs, mulching, raking leaves in the fall, and more!
Develop a friendship with a person JARC serves. You can go out (lunch, shopping, movies, etc.). Possibilities are endless.
