This is perfect for retirees and the self-employed who want to help others! We also have special projects for youth, college and church groups!

How do we keep the lights on, the emails answered and the mailbox clear? Administrative volunteers! This is a critical role that allows the rest of the organization to keep moving forward.

Scenic Nevada volunteers make many appearances at public meetings and workshops to make sure that new laws and ordinances do not strip away scenic protections. Recently, Scenic Nevada has been in Carson City at legislative hearings and at Washoe County Commission meetings. It’s an empowering and thrilling way to see democracy in action!

Responsibilities can include being a race marshal, registration, cleanup, etc. Volunteers usually need to be available from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Mother’s Day.

Volunteers assisting with exhibition installation become part of a team responsible for prepping, painting, labeling, and cleaning. Art handling training is required. Curatorial support includes assistance with data entry, research, filing and special projects.

Docents host guided tours and workshops about the exhibitions and collections. Tours are given daily to a large range of groups who vary in age and interest. Specialized training and a love of public speaking is required to become be in the docent program.

The Center for Art + Environment Research Library & Archives is staffed by volunteers with duties that include greeting and assisting guests and working on special projects.

Customer service volunteers interested in staffing the Museum Store or the admissions desk serve as the primary contact between the Museum and the general public. Hospitality volunteers assist with the staffing of numerous Museum events. From regularly scheduled events such as First Thursday, Second Saturday and other Museum events, volunteer duties include checking in registered guests, coat check, set up and tear down, and greeting and directing guests.
