MentorBreakthrough San Juan Capistrano has a College Mentoring Program for our high school juniors and seniors. Mentors will be paired with one of our juniors to assist in their college application process through their senior year. By assisting with the college application process, mentors will contribute to our mission of putting our students on the trajectory of a successful college path!Community VolunteersBreakthrough depends on the involvement of generous community members like you! Here are some ways to get involved: help to plan a fundraising event or host a fundraising social event with your friends, host a Breakthrough SJC teaching fellow in your home for two months in the summer, host an information session about Breakthrough SJC at your community organization or group, set-up support for Breakthrough SJC events and special activities, and help with administrative office work.College VolunteerAre you a local college student with interest in education or community service? You could play a critical role in the lives and and academic success of students. College students make great tutors, not only because of their levels of expertise, but because they model college-going culture to Breakthrough students. Students of any major are welcomed to join our community of tutors.Parent VolunteersParents of Breakthrough attend monthly meetings to discuss and plan upcoming events and fundraisers, brainstorm ideas to improve event planning, coordinate with staff to outreach within the community, and execute program events and fundraisers.High School VolunteersServe as a Breakthrough SJC In-Session teacher during the school year. Breakthrough SJC is looking for high school students in Orange County to provide homework help and enrichment for Breakthrough seventh and eighth grade students attending Marco Forster Middle School. Serve as a Breakthrough SJC High School Tutor during the school year. We are looking for high school and college students to serve as tutor. Help with administrative office work during the school year. |

Breakthrough San Juan Capistrano is passionately working to end inter-generational poverty in our community. We provide tuition-free, year-round support from middle school until college graduation. All students deserve access to a great education, excellent resources, and a pathway to college. |
