About us

Established in 1976, the Brown County Humane Society (BCHS) is dedicated to the care and well-being of animals in Brown County, Ohio by improving the lives of all animals and educating our community about proper and responsible care. BCHS is committed to placing the animals that come in through cruelty, neglect, homelessness or owner surrenders into permanent, loving homes. Significant effort is directed to addressing dogs, cats and horses. However, other animal needs, such as sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits, pigs, are also addressed by BCHS when issues of neglect or cruelty are reported.
