About us

Today only a few patches of Wisconsin’s original two million acres of prairie still exist. The largest remaining true prairie untouched by the plow in Kenosha County is called Chiwaukee Prairie and it is located in the town of Pleasant Prairie. It has been thirty years since Al and the first prairie lovers started on their quest for land in order to preserve Chiwaukee Prairie for themselves but most of all for future generations. The Chiwaukee Prairie Preservation Fund protects the natural diversity of rare, endangered and threatened species and serves as a resource for conservation education.
