| About us | Christ Child Society was founded in 1887 by Mary Virginia Merrick in Washington, DC as a national volunteer organization dedicated to helping children in need. Over 100 years later, members of CSS throughout the United States continue to love and nurture children. The Dayton Chapter, established in 1911 by Helen and Marie Rotterman, continues to thrive without benefit of paid administrative staff and does not own property. |
