Needs |
VolunteerVolunteer can help in a number of ways such as sorting and repacking crayons to get back-to-school ready, hand writing notes for kids to receive with their crayon packs, and participating in playdates with a purpose where you get to know Crayon Collection while your kids write kind notes!Ambassador!Ambassadors are official volunteers of Crayon Collection who support our mission and programming by doing the following: actively recruit new crayon donors such as, restaurants, community centers & businesses who give out crayons to kids; identify potential new crayon donors and work with the business or corporation to set-up and maintain a crayon collection on-site; or organize your own local crayon drive within your community and deliver those saved crayons to Title 1 Schools or Head Start Centers near you. |

How you help |
---|
About us | Billions of crayons are produced in the U.S. each year, and much of that ends up in our landfills. These petroleum-derived crayons can take years – even decades- to decompose. Meanwhile, U.S. teachers in underfunded public schools are spending an average of $750 of their own income per year on supplies for their classrooms. Our solution – pairing participating Crayon Collection restaurants with local high-poverty Title1 schools. Each school then receives our free, artist inpired, Art Education Curriculum, where crayons are the main tool for deep learning. |
