| Description | Crisis Counselors answer texts from people in crisis, and are trained in techniques to bring them from a hot moment to a cool calm through active listening, collaborative problem solving, and safety planning. Interested in becoming a volunteer? When need volunteers especially at night! Texters tend to be in crisis more often at night, when the rest of the world is sleeping. No wonder ⅔ of our texter volume happens at night. Our greatest need is during the hours of 10pm and 6am EST. Are you a night owl or early riser? Then this is the perfect opportunity for you! REQUIREMENTS: background check, must be at least 18, orientation or training, 4 hours a week for one year United States social security number, working computer with secure internet connection. |
