Adoption AmbassadorContacting applicants and checking references for potential adopters.Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)Assist with our TNR program. TNR helps to prevent the death of feral-born kittens, addresses community complaints and concerns about cats, and helps temper the breeding cycle. Our TNR program has two elements: the actual TNR of community cats, as well as building shelters for the cats.FosterFostering cats in your home. If you can provide a wonderful, temporary home for cats and kittens, FCS also uses foster homes for cats.Catfé Lounge VolunteerCleaning and preparing the Catfé Lounge before opening hours. Assisting at the Catfé Lounge during working hours. Includes greeting visitors, caring for the Catfé, and ensuring the care of cats and kittens. Volunteer applicants for the Ferndale Cat Shelter must be at least 18 years of age.Fundraising/MarketingAssist the shelter by helping plan or coordinate fundraising efforts. Or spread the word in the community by assisting with marketing. |

About us | The Ferndale Cat Shelter is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing medical care, adoption services, foster homes, and trap-neuter-release programs for felines in the metro Detroit area. Our licensed shelter is the Catfé Lounge, a cat café that serves as our hub for our many activities, including cat adoption services, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising events. |
