Genesis Community Health

To promote and provide health care with special sensitivity to the needs of economically disadvantaged people of diverse cultural backgrounds in and around Palm Beach County.

Genesis was formed in 2009 in response to a community needs assessment that identified Boynton Beach as an area of need and that there was a severe lack of access to primary care. This need was based upon evaluation of services available, high incidence of poverty and uninsured in the area, and high usage of the emergency room for primary care. Genesis Community Health was formed specifically to meet the needs of its patients. Per its bylaws, no less than 51 percent of its Board is comprised of health center patients. This stipulation ensures that the health center only provides services that will directly benefit patients and the communities it serves. A Federally Qualified Health Center, Genesis has taken a leadership role in making care more accessible, working with partners and independently.
