Sorting for Relief ProjectsGiving Children Hope’s Disaster Relief program has served communities stricken by both manmade and natural disasters for 25 years. We provide household items, furniture supplies, and clothing for frontline partners. The program would not exist without our volunteers. We need your help sorting through our various donations so that we can ship products in a timely manner.Seasonal Volunteer OpportunitiesHelp with seasonal opportunities such as the We’ve Got Your Back Summer Distribution and the December toy drive. You will help with distribute, packaging, wrapping parties, and more.Packing and DistributionIn order to furnish families with an ample food supply, we set up locations in the community where families can receive food. As a distribution volunteer, you will be responsible for one of these locations each week. You will manage the distribution of the food and tracking the families that receive it each week. This opportunity requires volunteers to be available for the same two hour block of time each week. As a volunteer at the Buena Park warehouse, you will be responsible for sorting canned food items, checking expiration dates, and filling backpacks for each child enrolled in We’ve Got Your Back.Organize Medical SuppliesAs a part of our effort to support hospitals, clinics and medical missions throughout the world and in preparation for our disaster relief response packages, Giving Children Hope receives donations of medical supplies in bulk. These supplies then need to be sorted through, cataloged and organized. Volunteers assist the Warehouse Manager and the rest of the Operations Staff in keeping our donations organized and ready for shipment. Volunteers will learn to identify and sort the various kinds of medical supplies. |
