Grandma’s Place

To provide shelter and loving care to children who have suffered abuse or neglect and have been removed from their homes; and to provide supports to parents/caregivers of children with special needs to maximize each child’s safety and success.

Grandma’s Place is an emergency foster shelter for children who have been removed from their homes by the Department of Children & Families due to abuse or neglect. Grandma’s Place also has a Family Support Program for families with a child with special needs. This program has three distinct, yet interconnected components; Parent Training and Education, Parent Mentoring Network, and Respite Care. Respite care is provided to the parents and/or caregiver who care for a child or children with mild-to-moderate special needs ages 0-12, evenings, weekends, overnight, after school, and on an emergency basis.
