It’s fun and makes a profound impact!Pro-Bono ServicesUse your skills and vocation to help our community. Pro-bono services volunteers are professionals in law, real estate, finance, insurance and other areas who offer their services at no cost to assist JFFS.Senior Care & ConnectFamily Services of JFFS needs volunteers to assist with Café Europa events for Holocaust survivors, perform in-home tech assistance, on behalf of seniors in our community and more.Mitzvah Mavens (Women)Meet and become friends with a dynamic group of women who are doing important mitzvah projects throughout OC! There is no financial commitment to get involved.Reassurance CallsVolunteer from the convenience of your own home! Make weekly social phone calls to homebound older adults. Volunteers provide stimulating conversation and friendship to older adults who are otherwise isolated from the community.Meal PartnerThe Meal Partners Program brings Holocaust survivors together with community volunteers who engage with them through the sharing of meals. You, your family, or a circle of friends can volunteer to become meal partners. You will be matched with an individual survivor based on interests, background and proximity. Meals can be shared at home, in a restaurant, or in a community setting. You can even prepare a meal together if either partner enjoys cooking.Special Needs ServicesFun and meaningful opportunities for volunteers to support our work with people with special needs.Senior Fitness and Activity InstructorsWe hold classes for seniors at low-income housing complexes in Irvine. Our seniors like to mix it up…so we are always looking for interesting classes to keep them interested. Chair Pilates, Yoga, Tai-Chi, Zumba, Ethnic Dance, Line Dance, or Clogging are but a few examples of the types of classes we’re looking for! Volunteers can choose to teach a weekly six or eight week class or sign on with us once a week for 6 months or more.Silver Streak Transportation Volunteer DriverThere are many seniors in Orange County who cannot drive and who need a safe way to get to doctor's appointments, shop for food, run errands, and stay active in the community. Your volunteer commitment is flexible. You can volunteer to drive as little as once or twice a month, or as much as five days a week, depending on your preference. |
