Lighting Designer and/or Lighting Technician

Description | Lighting designers transfer the page to the stage. Lighting designers read the script and work with the director and set designer to create the visual effects on stage to help transform the set into reality. Lighting designers also are responsible for setting and programming all the set lighting and practicals, such as lamps, to help bring the set to life. Lighting designers are also responsible for explaining to the crew, actors, and lighting technician how the lights works. The lighting technician works with the stage manager and light designer to present the vision of the production. You will play close attention to detail and deliver the pre-programmed light cues on-time during performances. |
