Nursing Home Ombudsman Volunteer
| Description | Volunteers age 55+ are needed to make weekly visits to a nursing home. As Ombudsmen, they meet with residents to educate them about their rights and advocate for them. An Ombudsman is asked to make a 1 year commitment. Initial training, in conjunction with the Mass State Ombudsman Program, requires 3 days. Monthly meetings are held for ongoing support and training. Fluency in one or more other languages (in addition to English) would be a real plus. |
