Needs |
Therapeutic Riding VolunteersOur Therapeutic Riding Volunteers and Equine Assisted Therapy volunteers work directly with the Instructor to provide assistance prior to and during the therapeutic riding lessons. The main responsibilities include participating in the lesson by leading the horse or side-walking. As a volunteer for therapeutic sessions, it is best to be able to commit to the same day and time for a full 8 week session. Even if it is only for one session on a given day and time, your dependability is essential to our program and the students. Volunteers who work on the ranch with or near the horses must be a minimum of 15 years of age.Facility MaintenanceAssist with facility maintenance to help ensure everything functions properly.Special Projects and EventsThroughout the year we need help with special projects around the farm and with events such as fundraisers.Public OutreachSpread the word about our programs and services throughout the community.Photography/VideoHelp capture what we do and share it through photos and video.Horse ShowsAssist at horse shows.MarketingAssist with maintaining an impactful virtual presence by putting together marketing and social media content.Farm FriendsHelp care for our farm friends.Horse CareAssist with the care of our horses. Tasks may include mucking stalls, feeding horses, cleaning horses, as well as other barn and arena chores.Ranch ImprovementsHelp plan or implement ranch improvement projects. |

Located at Shadow Hills Equestrian Center on a beautiful riding facility in Shadow Hills, California, SHRC is a P.A.T.H. International Premier Accredited Riding Center. We offer therapeutic riding programs in which horses are used as a tool for physical therapy, emotional growth, and learning. |
