To affect positively: The quality of life for persons with cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities; to meet their multiple needs and those of their families; and to prevent developmental disabilities and minimize their effects.

United Community Options of Broward, Palm Beach, and Mid-Coast Counties has provided services to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities for over 50 years. United Community Options of Broward, Palm Beach, and Mid-Coast Counties was incorporated in 1956 and opened its first program in 1971 serving adults with developmental disabilities by offering information, referral and program support services. The preschool opened in 1973 and followed with the opening of several group homes. Today, United Community Options serves over 1500 people annually with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as typically developing children and provides a wide array of services. At United Community Options it is our belief that each individual we serve is defined by their unique human qualities and not by their disability. We work together to provide a choice of programs and services that nurture the talents and abilities of every child and adult served. We believe in community first! That every person served regardless of the challenges they face are entitled to live in and belong to a community where they are accepted and included with dignity and respect. It is our goal to continuously seek new opportunities and advancements for every person we serve.
